Reinhold Industries

Cabin Interiors

Diverse range of products leveraging Reinhold’s breadth of composite and metal manufacturing capabilities

Cabin Interior products range from individual components to complex, tight-tolerance assemblies

Composite Seating Structures

  • Products require a higher level of precision and conformance
  • Products must meet strength, fire worthiness and other thresholds
  • Requires technically differentiated production capabilities

Composite vs. Metal Seatbacks

  • Half the weight of metal pieces
  • Better anti-corrosive properties
  • Can combine multiple components into monocoque design for greater flexibility
  • Higher strength with greater durability

Market Drivers

Global demand for air travel – Original equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”), industry groups and the FAA forecast growing demand for air travel over the next 20 years given positive macroeconomic trends, particularly in emerging markets

Increased wide body demand – Increased demand for air travel coupled with airport capacity constraints in developed markets are increasing demand for higher capacity aircraft

Increased composite content – Requirements for weight reduction and reduced part counts plus the design flexibility of composites driving increasing demand for composites

Strong outlook for deliveries – Significant order volumes since 2010 and new product introductions support strong ongoing production rates

Increased premium and feature-packed seating – Competitive differentiation across premium products and demand for in-flight entertainment driving seat selection and replacement

Growing installed base – Market share of composite seating is growing which drives a larger installed base and recurring aftermarket volume from refurbishment

Composite seatbacks save approximately $50,000 in fuel per wide body aircraft per year
